Nike Cortez Joins the “Sashiko” Pack

Nike Cortez Sashiko FZ5040-221

Nike’s Cortez is getting a premium new release this month, dressing the shoe in a variety of materials and colors akin to the “Sashiko” Vomero 5 that release last week.

The Nike Cortez returns to the brand’s arsenal every few years, reviving the brand’s original track shoe in classic and new colorways. We’ve seen a number of special Cortez releases over the last few months, but this week a new “Sashiko” edition has emerged, expected to release this month. Bearing a striking resemblance to the recent detail-oriented Vomero 5, this pair is a luxurious upgrade on the simple silhouette. The upper begins with a khaki brown leather base layer, adding double-layered Swooshes in pink canvas and brown leather. The toes and heels are added in olive and navy denim, with each shoe featuring opposing colors on the rear and front of the shoe. Brown leather eyelets hold thick rope laces, while leather tongue tabs with vintage script branding complete the look.
