Ahead of all Hallows Eve, Nike has announced their Day of the Dead lineup for 2020 which includes the Air Max 90, Air Jordan 1 Mid, Nike Daybreak, and the Blazer Mid.
Lately, we have seen the Mexican holiday, Dia De Los Muertos take over October with bright colors and meaningful messages. Translated to Day of the Dead in English, the three day holiday is a special time to take some time and honor and remember past loved ones and ancestors. Nike has taken inspiration from the ofrenda, or alter for 2020, and has applied meaningful takes to a variety of silhouettes donning themed colors.
Featuring the Air Jordan 1 Mid, Air Max 90, Daybreak, and Blazer Mid, each features dark burgundy and yellow harvest, inspired by the Marigold, tones throughout while also featuring design accents that honor the sacred holiday. “Para mi familia” is included throughout each shoe and the matching apparel which means “For my family”. Overall, the collection arrives at a perfect time before the festivities begin and feature unique colorways specific for the meaningful holiday.
