The Nike Field General is the latest shoe from their archives to appear in a retro form, rehashing the silhouette’s original shape for the ’82 format. Several new styles are set to arrive throughout the rest of the year, with the latest pair surfacing this week. Dressed in a soft “Aluminum” blue with orange accents, pairs are coming soon.

Nike’s Field General is back this year, returning the 1982 turf trainer to the Swoosh’s catalog in its original format for the first time in nearly a decade. The model served as the inspiration behind the popular Tom Sachs GPS sneaker, as well as the base for an upcoming collaboration with Union. The model was originally designed as a lightweight and simple footwear option for football players, largely worn by quarterbacks in the ’80s to keep them agile and surefooted. Now, the model has launched in a number of new colorways over the last few months, with more styles still to be revealed.

This week, Nike has unveiled their latest iteration of the Field General, expected to arrive later this Summer. For this edition, the pair gets a new “Aluminum” color scheme, which casts the model’s nylon and leather layers of the upper in a light shade of blue. The Swooshes, heel counters, and Nike branding come in a bright Total Orange shade, while the look is completed by a light brown gum sole underneath.
