Nike’ Simple Black & White Field General ’82 Releases in July

The Nike Field General is the latest shoe from their archives to appear in a retro form, rehashing the silhouette’s original shape for the ’82 format. Several new styles are set to arrive throughout the rest of the year, with the latest pair surfacing this week. Dressed entirely in leather, the black & white pair is coming soon.

The Field General is the latest retro performance model from Nike to be reimagined as a lifestyle silhouette. The sneaker was originally intended as a lightweight football turf shoe for quarterbacks, but has since served as inspiration for many newer models, most notably the Tom Sachs GPS. Now, the General is back in all of its original glory, with plenty of fun colors widely available.

This week brings us another addition to the growing catalog of the Field General ’82, a simple new style that is quite opposite the colorful releases we’ve seen thus far. This pair features an all-leather build, cast almost entirely in white and featuring perforated base panels for breathability. Swooshes and heel counters come in black, while light grey Nike branding and gum soles complete the new look.
