Nike Metcon 1 “Banned” Releasing August 2nd

Nike is set to reintroduce the Metcon 1 in its iconic “Banned” colorway. Originally debuting in 2015, the Metcon 1 gained fame for being banned from CrossFit Games due to Reebok’s exclusive sponsorship. This highly anticipated release comes just before the launch of the Nike Metcon X, the 10th edition of the training shoe.

The Nike Metcon 1 “Banned” features a striking Black and Red color palette, making it stand out in the Metcon lineup. The insoles display the “Banned” X logo, adding a rebellious flair. This detail pays homage to the 1985 incident when the NBA banned Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 1 sneakers for their Black/Red color scheme, making the “Banned” theme legendary.

The shoe’s upper is crafted from high-quality synthetic materials, ensuring durability and performance. The design includes a Black base with Varsity Red accents, giving it a bold look. The midsole provides excellent stability, and the outsole is designed for superior grip, making it ideal for high-intensity training.
