Salehe Bembury is adding another project to his ongoing work with New Balance, bringing us to two sneakers currently in the works. This time, Bembury is lending his creative eye to the Test Run project, which makes new footwear out of scrap and waste materials.

It has been a while since we’ve seen a release from New Balance’s Test Run project, an initiative aimed at sustainable manufacturing by creating new sneakers out of waste and scrap materials. Currently still in the ongoing third phase of the program, the Test Run project has settled on a unique, running-styled silhouette for its canvas, of which Salehe Bembruy has taken the reigns in preparation of another release, with the massively popular designer handpicking the materials and colors for his iteration. While previous releases have featured no set color schemes, you simply get a pair in the requested size, Salehe’s could be a twist, reusing old farics in a symmetrical manner before they get thrown out. His version begins with a leopard print base layer for the Test Run PRJ 3.0. Colorful accent overlays appear in grey, blue, and green, while white New Balance-branded webbing crisscrosses the upper, and the designer’s name running down the tongue sections.

SALEHE BEMBURY X NEW BALANCE TEST RUN PRJ 3.0 RELEASE INFORMATION

New Balance’s latest sustainable sneaker created for the Test Run initiative, this time designed by Salehe Bembury, has not yet been announced for release, though they are set to drop sometime in 2021. The colorful and extremely unique PRJ 3.0 will be available from an extremely limited number of retailers as well as New Balance itself, with a price tag of $180+. Check out Salehe’s first look below for a better look, and stay tuned to JustFreshKicks for more New Balance release news.

UPDATE 4/11/21: Salehe Bembury took to his Instagram stories this weekend to once again tease the release of his upcoming New Balance Test Run 3.0 project. Opening up a locker to reveal several pairs of the shoes, the designer also showed off some of the “Finders Keepers” branded accessories that will be in tow. Through his allusions to the release, and the statement today that “you want to be in LA this week”, we are assuming that Salehe will be hosting some sort of scavenger hunt in Los Angeles, where the prizes will be limited pairs of the New Balance Test Run. While he has yet to confirm this, stay tuned to JustFreshKicks on Twitter for more Salehe x New Balance release news.
