Lots of sneaker releases are headed to Paris over the next few weeks, to celebrate this Summer’s Olympic Games. Solebox is joining in on the fun with a special release of the adidas Handball Spezial, though their drop is in celebration of their first Parisian retail location, opening this weekend.
The Handball Spezial is the latest archival silhouette to get a retro push from adidas, bringing the trainer to the forefront of their releases. The model has slowly stacked up more and more colorways over the last few years, with plenty of collaborative efforts to bolster its resume. Its presence in adidas arsenal is likely due in part to the popularity of the Samba, as both shoe’s feature a similar shape, and simple leather construction with gum soles.
The latest partner of the Three Stripes to release their take on the Handball is Germany’s Solebox. A member of the Consortium program, Solebox has given the Spezial silhouette a makeover in celebration of the opening of their new Paris retail location. Their version of the shoe features a pristine white leather upper, paired with a striking yellow accent for the stripes and heel counters. Gold co-branding appears on both shoes, with a simple gum sole to complete the look.

The special-edition pair of the Handball Spezial celebrating Solebox’s new Paris location will be available for preorder exclusively through the new store, for an estimated $120.
