The last time we saw a team-up from Todd Snyder and New Balance, the two were celebrating the NYC designers anniversary. Now, they are preparing to release the ‘City Gym’ 237 later this week.
Todd Snyder and New Balance have a new project releasing this week, following up on their Made in USA 992 that celebrated the 10th anniversary of the designer brand. This time around, the two are taking their inspiration from 1970s workout gear and the local ‘City Gym’, decorating the 237 in a sweatsuit-inspired color scheme. The new pair begins with a light grey nylon base layer, adding a shaggy grey suede to the toe box’s mudguards. The midfoot and heel overlays come in light and dark shades of grey and suede and leather respectively, while the oversized ‘N’ logos come in smooth white suede. The inner lining features a plush terry cloth textile for added comfort, while striped webbing for the tongues and heel tabs add another level of grey to the silhouette. Finally, simple leather tongue tags complete the look.
