Chris Gibbs’ Union Los Angeles is on top of the world right now. With two of the most popular sneaker releases in two years under his belt, the store’s founder is now teaming up with Converse, for a special-edition “Harlem Toile” printed Chuck Taylor All Star.

Chris Gibbs and the Union team have been churning out collaborative footwear this season. From the extremely hyped Jordan 4s to their Nike ACG Moc this week, Union’s roll has yet to be slowed, and this month is no different. Earlier this week, the Los Angeles-based retailer unveiled their latest sneaker release from within the Nike family, this time teaming up with Converse and artist Sheila Bridges to apply her famous “Harlem Toile” pattern to the Chuck Taylor All-Star. The special-edition release features an all-white construction of the Chuck Taylor, with Bridges’ colorful pattern even spaced throughout the otherwise blank canvas. When asked about his decision to use the “Harlem Toile” print, Chris Gibbs cited his appreciation for the artist at a younger age, as well as the artwork’s social message, saying “Long before we met I was just a fan of her Harlem Toile, not only as just a beautiful piece of art — which it is — but also as critique, if you will, on race relations in this country.”
