Michelle Obama Wears Jimmy Choo Pumps To Welcome ‘Hamilton’ Cast

The President and First Lady had the opportunity to unwind from a frenetic week with the cast of the hit Broadway show “Hamilton” on Monday evening.

Michelle Obama wore Jimmy Choo “Mei” pumps and a Tanya Taylor frock for the performance, which took place in the East Room of the White House.

It was a homecoming of sorts for “Hamilton” mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda, who performed a song from “The Hamilton Mixtape” during a poetry slam at the White House several years ago. Of course, no one could predict then that the show would eventually become Broadway’s biggest hit in years.

For Monday’s festive event, the First Lady returned to Choo, her go-to brand, after wearing Manolo Blahnik with a custom Jason Wu dress at the State Dinner last Thursday evening.

Last Thursday afternoon, Obama again wore Choo and Tanya Taylor for an appearance with Sophie Gregoiré-Trudeau, the wife of Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau.

Of course, the First Lady has long been a fan of the British designer. She’s worn Choo during many major moments, including to meet the pope in Washington last year and most recently, to dance with a 106-year-old lady at The White House last month.

For a tour in Europe last year, Obama was spotted wearing Jimmy Choo styles while out in London, and she also wore Choo at the start of 2015 while on an official trip to India with the president.
