Kerry Washington Elevates Preppy Style With Pointy Knee-High Boots

Kerry Washington went with a timeless look for her latest outing. The “Scandal” star stepped out in New York City on Monday after taping an episode of “The View.”

For her morning show appearance, she slipped into a pair of black knee-high boots. Her boots were covered in a suede material and featured a sharp pointed toe. A black band wrapped around the ankle and was cinched with a sparkly silver buckle. A 2-inch thin heel rounded the pair off.

Popularized in the ‘60 go-go era, knee-high boots remain a staple today. Often worn with skirts or dresses, the style is a wise choice in fall and winter for protecting the leg from the elements while still allowing the wearer to show some leg.

The actress paired her weather-appropriate footwear with a classic minidress. She wore a black and white tweed dress. Her dress featured long sleeves and four pockets along the front, as well as four silver buttons as extra embellishments. She accessorized her look with a fun black headband with stone detailing, as well as a few rings and small silver hoop earrings. Washington carried a black and white tweed top-handle bag as well.

Washington’s style versatility has led to several memorable looks through the years since she took over Hollywood. Even over the summer, she’s shown off her range in personal style. In July, she attended Dolce & Gabbana’s fashion show in Puglia, Italy wearing a crystal-adorned column gown featuring intricate beadwork from the luxury house paired with platform pumps. She also posted on Instagram a few weeks prior in printed pants and white sneakers.
