Michael Phelps’ Son Boomer is Ready for the Olympics in Bright Red, White and Blue

Michael Phelps returned to the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials for the first time since retiring, and brought his stylish son, Boomer, with him.

The 23-time gold medalist attended the trials, held in Omaha, Neb., with his wife, Nicole, and their oldest son. This marked the first time since 1996 that Phelps attended the trials as a spectator rather than a competitor.

Phelps posted on his Instagram from the trials, captioning the post “Words can’t describe these feelings… but it’s been cool showing booms the ropes!”

Though his 5-year-old son has a few decades until he can compete, he still managed to steal the show. Boomer attended the trials looking fresh in a white button-down shirt, blue jeans and bright red Native shoes. The red, white and blue outfit was perfect for supporting the American athletes. He also wore a mask.

His Jefferson shoes from Native added a bright pop of color that even matched his dad’s mask. The shoes, available in adult sizes as well, include a rubber rand and toe, plus they are shock absorbent, odor resistant and hand-washable.

Phelps donned a similar color palette to his son’s. The Under Armour ambassador wore a navy and white patterned button-down with gray joggers and white high-tops.
