The fallout between Kanye and adidas happened fast, and for adidas, maybe too fast. The downhill spiral led to the brand sitting on top of thousands of adidas Yeezy models in different colorways. This has led the brand to revisit the partnership.
There have been rumors swirling around for quite some time. While adidas was sure to take a hit in sales with the departure of Kanye from the brand’s lineup, they also were sitting on lots of pairs of Yeezy models, and when we say lots, we mean lots. Estimated to be worth over 1 billion dollars. Instead of these pairs on the feet of sneakerheads, Yeezy’s found themselves locked up in storage. It now looks like the brand and Kanye have settled on something both parties agreed upon (or did they) to allow those offerings to see the light of day. We are unsure if Kanye West (now known as Ye) is being compensated for the sale of these shoes.
CEO Bjorn Gulded stated to investors back in 2023, “What we are trying to do over time is to sell parts of these goods and then donate to organizations that help us, and that also have been hurt by Kanye’s statements.” “Burning is not the solution.” This will lead to a handful of different designs and models hitting the market throughout the next year, one of which is the highly anticipated return of the Yeezy 350 Pirate Black.
2024 ADIDAS YEEZY RELEASE DATE
Adidas is set to restart the release of its Yeezy sneakers, bringing excitement back to the sneaker community. The restock started on May 27th, where adidas is rolling out the remaining Yeezy inventory, offering fans a chance to cop the highly coveted pairs. The second launch will take place on June 3rd, 2024. The re-launch will take place only on the adidas CONFIRMED APP, ensuring a smooth and organized release process.
