Official Images of the Nike Air Max 1 “Design By Japan”

The Nike design team has passed the baton to the Japan SNKRS community for help on a new Air Max 1 rendition that features a “Design By Japan”.

While the model is still in the mix of its 35th Anniversary, Nike will be showing some love to the sneaker culture overseas with Japan’s SNKRS users having a role in the making of this new AM1 rendition. Inspired by the Nike Sting, a running shoe from the late 70’s the rendition sports a vintage aesthetic with white, green, and burnt orange all playing a role on the impressive-looking mesh, suede, and leather upper. To add more vintage accents, cream laces tie the sneaker down while an aged rubber midsole and gum outsole are added below. The sneaker is then topped off with a golf hangtag which nods to the love of the Air Max 1 by the Japan sneaker scene.
