Devin Booker Debuts Nike Book 1 PE Inspired By Forrest Gump’s Cortez

It seems like Devin Booker comes out with a new Nike Book 1 PE every week. The 4x All-Star’s first signature shoe has worn the makeup of Nike ACG, Air Max, and Jordan Brand classics throughout its debut run, not to mention out-of-the-box GR designs like the upcoming Book 1 “Hike”. Now adding to that lineup is a new “Forrest Gump” PE, complete with the hallmarks Tom Hanks made famous on his Nike Cortez thirty years ago.

Gone is the Book 1’s typical pull tab on the heel, replaced by a red leather panel to better mimic the build of the Cortez. The shoe also wears the Cortez’s beveled leather near the eyelets, and the Swoosh and midsole feature the same red and blue treatments against a white backdrop.

Devin Booker said he wants his signature shoes to be worn by consumers on and off the court, and while this latest PE isn’t expected to release, it definitely does right by that mission. Not for nothing, the “Forrest Gump” Cortez is dropping later this year for the first time since 2016.
